Pudumjee Paper Products starts operations at Pune plant

Pudumjee Paper Products Limited has restarted operations at its Pune plant. It had suspended work on 23 March to ensure the safety of employees of the company in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company received permission from the government of Maharashtra for resuming production at its Pune plant on 8 May. With this Pudumjee Paper has resumed manufacturing of specialty paper products required as input for packaging material in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products, hospital supplies, hygiene sectors, food, and confectionery, among others.

Earlier, in April, the company received permission from the government of Maharashtra for dispatch and transport of manufactured paper products of the company lies in its inventory for use in essential supplies like soap wrappers, papers for medical packaging, food packaging, tissue paper for hygiene, which in turn is required to maintain the supply chain of essential commodities and services during the prevalence of the pandemic. Similarly, the hygiene division engaged in the supply of essential products had also resumed its operations.

The company said it is taking appropriate measures to ensure the safety, hygiene, and well-being of all its employees and workers in compliance with the directives and circulars issued by the government.
