Amrita Hospital Kochi bags Ficci’s Made in Kerala award

The awards honor best performers in the state in various categories

Amrita Hospital Kochi has won the Made in Kerala Awards 2022 awarded by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (Ficci) as the best hospital in the category of the ‘best medical institution above 500 beds.’

Dinesh TA, hospital administrator and professor & HoD, Department of Hospital Administration, Amrita Hospital, received the award on behalf of the institution from Kerala finance minister KN Balagopal. 

The ‘Made in Kerala’ Awards honor the best performers from the state in various business sectors, which exhibited high standards of excellence. A jury comprising economists and leading personalities selected the awardees from each category. 

Prem Nair, Group Medical director, Amrita Hospitals, Kochi, said, “In this 25th year of excellence in the healthcare industry, we are delighted and honored to have received this award. It is a recognition of the high standards of excellence in healthcare that we offer to thousands of patients every day.” 

Dinesh T A said Amrita Hospital is one of the largest Quaternary Care university teaching hospitals in Kerala that caters to an average of 1 million patients every year, along with more than 76,000 in-patients.

Over 22,000 surgeries are conducted annually at the hospital that has a student strength of more than 3,000 students. It holds the distinction of being a highly regarded academic institution in the medical field with more than 400 publications per year.” 

Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences is a premier hospital founded in 1998 by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.
